01 Information we collect
We collect information directly from you and automatically as you use the bcart app or website:
- Account details — name, mobile number, and email address (if provided) when you sign up.
- Delivery information — your delivery address, landmark and locality within Bareilly, and location coordinates so a delivery partner can reach you.
- Order information — items ordered, order value, payment method, and order history.
- Payment information — payments are processed by our payment gateway partner; bcart does not store your full card, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials.
- Communication — messages, calls or support tickets you raise with our support team, kept for quality and dispute resolution.
- Device and usage data — device type, app version, and approximate usage patterns, used to keep the app working reliably.
02 How we use your information
- To take, confirm, pack and deliver your orders within our Bareilly delivery area.
- To share your delivery address and phone number with the delivery partner assigned to your order.
- To send order updates, delivery status, and, where you've opted in, offers and reminders.
- To resolve support requests, refunds, and complaints.
- To detect fraud, prevent misuse of the platform, and keep accounts secure.
- To meet legal, tax and food-safety record-keeping requirements, including those under the FSSAI licence bcart operates under.
03 Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to run the service:
- Delivery partners, so your order reaches you.
- Payment gateway providers, to process online payments securely.
- Service providers who help us with SMS/WhatsApp order updates, hosting, and customer support.
- Government or regulatory authorities, where required by law, such as tax or food-safety authorities.
04 Location data
Because bcart delivers only within Bareilly, we use your location (either detected by your device or the address you type) to confirm you're inside our serviceable area, show accurate delivery timelines, and help delivery partners find your address. You can decline location access, but you'll need to enter your address manually to place an order.
05 Cookies and similar technology
Our website and app use cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and preferences, and understand how the service is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.
06 Data retention
We keep order and account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after that to meet accounting, tax and food-safety record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.
07 Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we encourage you to keep your account credentials confidential.
08 Your choices and rights
- You can review and update your profile and address details from within the app.
- You can opt out of promotional SMS/WhatsApp/email messages at any time; you'll still receive order-related messages.
- You can request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your account data by contacting support — see the Support page.
- Deleting your account will not remove records we're legally required to retain, such as tax invoices.
09 Children's use
bcart is intended for users who are 18 years or older, or who are placing orders under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children to create independent accounts.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Effective from" date at the top will always show the latest revision. Continued use of bcart after an update means you accept the revised policy.
